Youth Healthy Space

We are delighted to share that My Wellbeing Space CIC has secured a second round of funding from Phoenix Way, with a £51,000 award to deliver our Youth Healthy Space project.
Running from 2025–2026, this year-long initiative supports Black and racially minoritised girls and boy aged 11–18 who are at increased risk of serious violence, building on the success of our previous Phoenix-funded Fitness Camp through early intervention, prevention, and empowerment.
Youth Healthy Space creates trusted, supportive environments where girls and boys can express themselves, build confidence, strengthen resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies for challenges in their lives and communities.
The Youth Voice Group gives participants a platform to shape activities, share opinions, and develop leadership skills in a safe and supportive setting.
The Homework Club supports academic engagement, focus, and confidence, helping to remove barriers to learning and achievement, delivered in partnership with Oasis Academy Hadley School.
The Sexual Awareness and Prevention Campaign educates young people about consent, boundaries, and respectful relationships, promoting safer school and community environments.
The Fitness Camp, delivered with PowerBoxFitness, promotes physical and mental wellbeing through structured boxing and fitness sessions that build discipline, teamwork, and positive routines.
Creative Workshops provide therapeutic spaces for self-expression through journaling, and creative activities that support emotional wellbeing and self-esteem.
Cultural Events bring young people, families, and the wider community together in positive, celebratory spaces that strengthen connection and belonging.
AQA-accredited learning enables participants to gain recognised qualifications that build confidence, motivation, and clear pathways into further education, training, or employment.
Youth Healthy Space is committed to supporting young girls and boys to lead safer, healthier, and more confident lives, while creating positive pathways away from harm and towards brighter futures.

Keeping Our Children and Young People Safe
At My Wellbeing Space (MWS), we are dedicated to ensuring that every child has the right to equal protection. We have implemented comprehensive processes to keep our children and young people safe:
Designated Safeguard Lead: Our Qualified Safeguard Lead acts as the central point of contact for any child protection matters, overseeing all safeguarding concerns at MWS.
Policies and Procedures: Governed by Enfield Voluntary Action 2023, our policies and procedures for children, young people, and vulnerable adults are regularly reviewed and updated annually to ensure the highest standards of safety.
Referral Partners: Our partners, Oasis Academy Hadley School, Oasis Academy Community Hub, and The Safer Neighbourhood Team have dedicated safeguarding teams and robust child protection policies and procedures in place.
Parental Collaboration: We work closely with parents/guardians to ensure the safety of their children.
Supervision Ratios: We ensure appropriate supervision ratios during activities, enabling staff to effectively manage associated risks and safeguard the students.
Enhanced DBS Certificates: All partners, staff, sessional workers, volunteers, and anyone coming into contact with the students are required to present up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificates.
Dedicated Advocacy Team: We have a dedicated team of advocates, including mentors, support workers, wellbeing professionals, and specialist workers, to support the girls in this programme.

Summer Fitness Camp

Summer 2024, My Wellbeing Space and The Youth & Family Hub came together to deliver a transformative experience for young people across Enfield through our Summer Fitness Camp, an initiative designed specifically for members of the Enfield Youth Centres.
Funded by the Phoenix Way Fund and The Youth & Family Hub, this community-driven programme was developed to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering space for young people during the summer holidays.
Far more than just a fitness programme, the Summer Fitness Camp offered a holistic approach to wellbeing. With a strong focus on Black and racially minoritised girls, the camp engaged over 100 young participants through a carefully curated mix of physical training, creative workshops, and mindfulness sessions.
From boxing and circuit training to vision board making and guided reflection, each activity was designed to:
Promote physical and mental health
Build discipline, teamwork, and self-esteem
Keep young people off the streets and away from negative influences
Create a sense of belonging and community
By providing a structured, engaging environment, the camp helped young people develop essential life skills while fostering positive peer relationships and a healthier lifestyle.
The impact extended beyond the participants, parents gained peace of mind knowing their children were in a safe, enriching space, offering them much-needed support during the holiday period.
Our Summer Fitness Camp proved that with the right support, environment, and opportunities, our young people can thrive.
